This information sheet should cover most matters of everyday interest to Members of the Mornington and Betfair Racing Clubs. However, should you require further information, please contact either of the Clubs on 5975 3310 (Mornington) or 9578 1300 (Sandown) 

1. Dress Regulations:
The Mornington and Betfair Racing Clubs requests that Members comply with the Dress Regulations that are in place.

(a) Gentlemen
Members Dining Room (Gunnamatta Room): Collared shirt, tailored trousers, covered footwear and socks. Not acceptable in members areas: Denim, singlets, t-shirts, runners, thongs, peaked caps.


(b) Ladies
Gunnamatta Room: Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable standard of dress in keeping with the dignity of the Members’ Dining Room.

(c) Members’ Guests

Members are reminded of their responsibility for ensuring the attire of guests that they introduce into the Members’ Enclosure conforms to these standards.

2. Members Car Park

Members are reminded to clearly display their Members Car Park Pass on their windscreen. Attendants will not permit entry into the Members Car Park if this pass is not displayed.

There will be additional car parking facilities for Members on Peninsula Cup Day and Mornington Cup Day. Members will enter through Gate A and be directed to the temporary Members Car Park. Once again, only vehicles with the Members Car Park Pass will be granted entry into this car park.

 

The Club requests that Members comply with traffic conditions that are imposed on feature days.

3. Ticket Entitlements
Members will receive the following in 2010 – 2011 for a Club Membership:

One Members Pass – not transferable. This pass provides admission to each Mornington and Betfair Park Racing Club meetings as well as entry into the Members’ Enclosure. This pass must be worn at all times while in the Members’ Enclosure.

One Unrestricted Guest Pass – transferable. This pass provides admission to each Mornington and Betfair Park Racing Club meetings as well as entry into the Members’ Enclosure. This pass must be worn at all times while in the Members’ Enclosure.

One Restricted Guest Pass – transferable. This pass provides admission to every Mornington and Betfair Park Racing Club meetings as well as entry into the Members’ Enclosure except Mornington Cup, T'Gallant Peninsula Cup and Sandown Classic. This pass must be worn at all times while in the Members’ Enclosure.

(a) Additional Guest Passes
Members are able to purchase additional Members’ Enclosure Day Passes. These passes can be purchased prior to the required race meeting or on the raceday from the Secretary’s Office.

(b) Lost Cards
The loss or theft of membership cards or car passes must be reported either verbally or in writing to the Club as soon as possible after the loss has been detected.

A replacement card or car pass will be issued after submission of a statutory declaration explaining the circumstances of the loss. A fee does apply for the replacement card.

4. Alcohol Policy
The Mornington and Betfair Park Racing Clubs do not permit patrons to bring any alcoholic beverages through the turnstiles.

This policy will be strictly enforced. The Clubs request that all Members comply with this policy.

5. Disabled Access
Members that require wheelchair access to gain entry to the Upper level of the Grandstand can do so via the lift in the Grandstand foyer. There is also a disabled ramp that will assist Members to enter the Carvery Bar.

Members requiring access to Disabled toilet facilities can do so on the Upper level of the Grandstand in the toilets adjacent to the Lift. There are additional Disabled toilet facilities in the Winning Post Dining Room and Breezeway toilets at the Members Car Park Entrance.

6. Change of Address / Contact Details
To assist the Club in servicing our Membership database, it would be appreciated if we could be notified when Members change personal details and / or mailing address. To extract maximum benefit from your Membership, it is important that we keep all Members up to date of Club activities and developments.

7. Information for Members
Communication to Members is via quarterly Newsletters. TOP TRACK informs Members on a wide range of issues relating to the Mornington Racing Club and Steeples Tabaret. In addition to this, Members receive an Annual Report each October.

8. Annual General Meeting
The AGM of the Mornington Racing Club is held in November each year. This meeting is held at the Mornington Racing Club, and all financial Members of the Club are welcome to attend.

 

9. Committee
The Committee of the Mornington Racing Club consists of nine members that represent the entire membership. In November 2001 at a Special General Meeting, the Club adopted a new Constitution. A copy of this Constitution can be obtained by contacting the Club.

Members are encouraged to discuss Club related issues with Committeemen.

10. Children in the Members’ Enclosure
Children up to the age of 17 may be admitted to the Members’ Enclosure when accompanied by an adult who is a Member of the Mornington and Betfair Park Racing Clubs. Parents are reminded of their responsibility to ensure that children in their care behave in a manner that is appropriate in the Members’ Enclosure. Parents must supervise their children at all times.

11. Members’ Dining Room
Members and their guests are encouraged to utilize the Members Dining Room (the Gunnamatta Room). Dining Packages are available at each racemeeting. There are 29 tiered tables overlooking the track. Each table includes private LCD monitor, as well as full table service.

The Gunnamatta Room is the ideal location to enjoy an afternoon at the Mornington races. For bookings, contact the Event Coordinator at the Club on 5975 3310.

13. Raceclub Functions
The Club conducts two main functions each season. In October, the Club stages the annual Hats N Hooves Luncheon Friday 23rd of October in the Grandstand. This function comprises all that makes the Spring Racing Carnival the great success that it is – fashion, food, wine and horses.

Leading up to the Mornington Cup each February, the Club conducts a Dinner Dance on the Saturday prior to the Cup. This is a great night of entertainment and provides the ideal lead-in to the Mornington Cup – the
Peninsula’s premier sporting and social event.

Tickets to these functions can be purchased through the Club.

14. Hire of Racecourse Facilities
Members can book the various function rooms at the Mornington Racing Club. The Mornington Racecourse is the ideal venue for weddings, conferences, meetings, trade shows, seminars and parties.

Contact the Club to arrange an inspection of the various rooms that are available. Bookings can be made through the Event Coordinator at the club on 5975 3310.

15. Privacy Policy

The Mornington Racing Club recognises the importance of privacy. We understand concerns about the security of personal information and we are committed to protecting the personal information that we hold about Members.

The Club collects personal information about Members for the purposes of allowing us to: process Membership Applications and manage the membership database advise Members of special offers from the Mornington Racing Club, Steeples Tabaret and sponsors that may be of interest to you.

By providing the Club with the information contained within the Membership Application form you consent to
us using and disclosing that information for the purposes described above.

If Members do not provide us with the information that we request on the Application form we may not be able to process the Membership.

The Mornington Racing Club collects details relating to your credit card for the purpose of processing your membership payment. Credit card details are securely stored.

Members can gain access to personal information that we hold that relates to them, subject to some exceptions under privacy legislation.
